It has been a looooong time since I listened to these. Remarkably they don&#8217;t remind me of my dad, who was a cellist, because unlike my mom and my sister, I have so little memory of hearing him practice. I think it must have been MTB talking about opera that made me think of putting these on this morning. They do seem kind of \u00a0perfect for the damp and dark.<\/p>\n<p>Lat night as I was falling asleep I thought of 4 or 5 lines that would work together as a great poem. Who knows if that was true, about the great part, because I didn&#8217;t write them down. Lost to sleep. But sleep is good. Much less tossing and turning last night. Much less tired this morning. I did find some lines from several Tony Hoagland poems that I like (hopefully they don&#8217;t seem too orphaned without the rest of the poem). Also, there&#8217;s this whole poem of his, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poemhunter.com\/poem\/lucky\/\">Lucky<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>These lines from <a href=\"http:\/\/dwitkowski.blogspot.com\/2010\/04\/romantic-moment-by-tony-hoagland.html\">Romantic Moment<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And if she was a Brazilian leopard frog she would wrap her impressive<br \/>\ntongue three times around my right thigh and<\/p>\n<p>pummel me softly against the surface of our pond<br \/>\nand I would know her feelings were sincere.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>These lines from the <a href=\"http:\/\/writersalmanac.publicradio.org\/index.php?date=2011\/09\/10\">The Word<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow you may be utterly<br \/>\nwithout a clue,<\/p>\n<p>but today you get a telegram<br \/>\nfrom the heart in exile,<br \/>\nproclaiming that the kingdom<\/p>\n<p>still exists,<br \/>\nthe king and queen alive,<br \/>\nstill speaking to their children,<\/p>\n<p>\u2014to any one among them<br \/>\nwho can find the time<br \/>\nto sit out in the sun and listen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>These lines from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poemhunter.com\/poem\/grammar\/\">Grammar<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>we\u2019ve all tried to start a fire,<br \/>\nand one day maybe it will blaze up on its own.<br \/>\nIn the meantime, she is the one today among us<br \/>\nmost able to bear the idea of her own beauty,<br \/>\nand when we see it, what we do is natural:<br \/>\nwe take our burned hands<br \/>\nout of our pockets,<br \/>\nand clap.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bach cello suites.
