i love rock and roll…
December 20, 2007
A short list of some songs I’ve been regularly listening to this year that remind me why I love rock and roll.
- The Who – I’m Free (some of the best fucking drum fills ever – don’t even argue with me)
- The Shins – Kissing the Lipless
- David Bowie and Freddie Mercury – Under Pressure
- Elivs Costello – Everyday I Write the Book
- Calvin Harris – Merry Making at My House
- Iron & Wine – Flightless Bird, American Mouth
- Gnarls Barkley – Crazy (what a great R & B dance song)
- Thom Yorke – Eraser
- Eddie Vedder and Strokes cover- Mercy, Mercy Me
- Destroyer – Painter in Your Pocket.
Everyday I Write the Book is a great song. I realized a few years ago that I can sing all of the first song on Imperial Bedroom which I think is called “beyond Belief.” I’ll do it for your sometime if you want. Also, I have been working on the lyrics to a song inspired by a line invented by an ex-roommate: “Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of Santa.” I figure the next line should be “whiplashed reindeer” … feel free to add.
I am a pedestrian pasnisg by to salute to the brave lady who dares to expose herself as one of the singers in the Fokguy series. Some day, if you could sing this in a concert together with the other contributers, I will believe that there is hope to the poor citizens.??? becomes one of significant social welfare marks the degeneration of the society. ??? should be a respect but not charity from the society to the olds. Receiving this respect or not should be a personal decision of your grand, which, should also be respected but not be discrimated.
