see some stuff

A little taste of what it looks like to bike in Portland.

I uploaded some photos from the rest of the summer and short backpack trip up to Indian heaven.

gorgeous photos – thanks for sharing. i like those shots of you over your parents’ shoulders, particularly the one w/ your dad -there’s an interesting sameness/difference quality of family resemblance, and something about his expression that conveys a lot of life.

those bike shots of portland are kinda surreal to me. here i’m either the only one on the road (many cyclists in jersey just stay on the sidewalks), or we’re all jockeying around each other in nyc, weaving in and out of traffic. no orderly lines of commuters — i hope that’s more what the future is like. makes so much sense to get people out there biking in our cities!

yeah i was in a long bike line today at a stop light and i thought, wow, bike congestion. this is cool. or course it’s not so orderly once the light turns green and everyone passes each other without a ‘bell ring’ or an ‘on your left’ or ‘on your right’. but yeah, we’re getting there.

thanks for the kind words on the photos. i think silvia said something similar about me and my dad. i like that you see a lotta life in there. he’s a good dude.
